Frequently Asked Questions
Moving day is approaching very quickly, here are a few answers to some questions you may be asking yourself.
If you find that you still have a question that was not addressed in this post, email us.
Do you accept financial aid ?
Yes, we work with financial aid refunds. If you plan to use financial aid to pay for your housing, please email us and we will provide further instructions to assist you.
Do you rent to students for only one semester?
We only sign 2 semester leases. Leases are dated from the weekend before classes start for the current Fall Semester until Sunday after graduation weekend of the following Spring Semester.
How much is the security deposit?
The security deposit is $350 per student and is due at lease signing.
Can I bring a pet?
Absolutely NO PETS! Having/holding/watching a pet is NOT permitted, as per your lease. The entire deposit of your apartment will be forfeited if an animal is discovered in the building. Allergies, damage to the property, and so much more could result from an animal. There are many fees that a pet could incur which could have a major effect on you and your roommates. We are all animal owners and lovers, but they are kept in our permanent home, not a rental unit that could affect others.
Does JAG Housing have parking available?
We have very limited parking spaces available and are sold on a first come - first served basis.
Are your apartments furnished?
Every apartment is furnished with a full sized bed and dresser in each bedroom, and a couch and flat screen TV in the living room. Furnishings do not include dishware, utensils, cookware, shower curtains, towels, linens, additional small furniture etc.
How are utilities handled?
Tenants are responsible for paying some utility bills. Utilities vary depending on the building tenants are living in. Before moving in, please discuss with your roommates how the cost of utilities will be divided up. Prior to move in, utilities accounts must be active and remain active until 1 week after the lease end date. This gives us time to inspect each unit to determine any security deposit deductions.
What is the smoking policy?
There is absolutely no smoking anywhere in our buildings, including the stairwells and hallways. Please go outside to reduce odor and smoke and to avoid setting off the fire alarms and security deposit deductions.
Who do I contact if my apartment needs a repair or maintenance?
To submit a maintenance request, please use the Contact Us page on our website.
Who do I contact if I’m locked out of my apartment?
If you get locked out of your apartment, first contact your roommates. If you are locked out after office hours, please call John Larkin at (570) 205-0299. Charges do apply for after hour lock out calls.
Does my apartment have a washer and dryer available?
Each unit has a washer and dryer available to use. Whether it is located inside your apartment or shared among the building, they are easily accessible and well- maintained.
Where do I throw out my garbage?
Each apartment complex has their own dumpster/trash can location. When you move in, you will be given instructions for where to place your trash. Please keep hallways and common areas free from trash. Charges will apply for trash left in these areas.
What do I need to do on moving day?
Before you can move into your apartment, all tenants in each unit must have Fall rent payment paid in full. Be sure to also stop by our office to pick up your keys, parking pass, and any additional forms needed. Our office is located at 35 East Main Street and will be open at 9:00am.
